You don’t need permission to access your inner-sorceress and direct your energies toward creating the life you desire. The power is within you, Goddess. It always has been. So whether you’re a magick novice or a seasoned witch, we know you have it inside you to expertly execute your spells and rituals. Here is a list of a few tools to help you along the way.  Altar Creating a sacred space is essential to your work. You can choose anywhere in your home that calls to you and fill your altar with objects that have meaning to you (we’ll offer some suggestions as you read on) and that you will use when casting your spells. It’s important to note that once you deem an item enchanted and make it part of your practice it is forever imbibed with your energy and your magic. Make sure not to use your altar candle to decorate your dinner table-unless of course that’s part of your spell ; )  Altar Mat A great way to set the tone and protect your altar is to top it with a sacred cloth or covering. Any fabric that feels magical to you will work. Our Altar Mats are a beautiful foundation to your altar and will get you in the mood to get your spellwork on.  Altar Bell Another spellwork must have is an altar bell. The clear ringing of a witch’s bell can do many things from cleaning the energy in your space to banishing unwanted energies. It can also be used to call in your desired intentions and clear any stagnant energy lingering in your home. Keep this on the left side of your altar, with tools representing the Goddess and use it to invoke her whenever needed. Our January 2021 Spellwork Box has the perfect altar bell to add to your spellwork toolkit.   Candles So many spells call for the element of fire so having candles on hand is a must. These instruments encompass all of the elements (fire, melted wax for water, the air that feeds the flame, and the solid wax for earth) and are powerful tools to aid in focusing your intention. You don’t need any special type of candle as long as the intention is there. The important part is to remember to never blow out your candle or you blow away your intention right along with it! Make sure to have a candle snuffer (included in our January 2021 Spellwork Box) on hand to put out the flame without undoing your work. Spellbooks While you can always create your own spells, it is always a good idea to have some guidebooks on hand to use as a touchstone or point of reference. We can always benefit from the knowledge of those who came before us and there are a plethora of options out there depending on the kind of magick you’re practicing. Leopard Jasper (as seen in our January 2021 Spellwork Box) is a great example as it is a powerful mental, physical and spiritual healer and it’s properties can be used to enhance your spells.   Journal & Pen You’ll want to have a place where you can document your experiences and keep track of any spells you create yourself. Find a beautiful notebook or journal that feels special to you and take time to write in it each time you feel called. While we are often taught to direct this loving energy outward, today creates a perfect opening to turn that devotion inward. This isn't just about relaxation; it is an act of reclaiming your Sacred Feminine. It is about recognizing that you are the temple.   Think of this altar not merely as a collection of objects, but as a physical mirror of your inner divinity. A dedicated space where you can pause, reflect, and remember your own magic. Adorning Your Altar You don’t need a complicated setup or rare tools. Use what you have, but place every item with deep intention. Here is a blueprint to get you started, but remember these are simply guidelines. Your altar is a sacred extension of you, so there is no "right" or "wrong" way to build it.   The Foundation (Crystals): Anchor the energy with stones of the heart. Rose Quartz: The quintessential stone for unconditional love and opening the heart chakra. Emerald or Green Aventurine: To tap into the lush, abundant side of Venus and invite heart-centered prosperity. Morganite: To connect with the Divine Feminine and high-frequency compassion. The Spark (Fire): A candle is the heartbeat of your altar. As you light it, visualize igniting your own inner radiance. Pink calls in gentleness, nurturing, and happiness. Red invokes passion, vitality, and confidence. White invites clarity, cleansing, and connection to Spirit. The Offering (Nature):  Fresh flowers are the language of Venus. Use them to connect your spirit to the cycles of the earth: Rose Petals: To invite romance and heart-opening. Jasmine or Lily: To call in lunar, feminine intuition and purity. Eucalyptus or Herbs: To add a layer of cleansing and fresh vitality. The Personal & Profound: This is where your altar truly comes alive. Weave in items that hold a piece of your story: Jewelry: Place your favorite rings or necklaces on the altar to "charge" them with Venusian energy before you wear them. Photos: Include a picture of your younger self to offer her love, or photos of the women in your lineage who inspire your strength. Oracle or Tarot Cards: Pull a card that represents the energy you want to embody, or choose a card that reminds you of your own strength (like The Empress or The Star) and leave it face-up as a focal point. Meaningful Keepsakes: Anything that makes you feel beautiful, seen, or spiritually "at home." The Reflection (A Mirror): A small mirror is perhaps the most powerful tool for this specific altar. Place it centrally so you can gaze upon yourself with love and admiration.   The Ritual Once your altar is set, close the evening with a simple ceremony of reverence. Clear the Space: Burn your favorite incense or dried herbs to signal a shift from the mundane to the magical. Ignite: Light your candle and take three deep belly breaths, inhaling the light and exhaling any heaviness from the week. Adorn: Apply a body oil or perfume to your pulse points (wrists, neck, and heart center) with a slow, lingering touch. Treat your body as the sacred vessel it is. Speak: Look into the mirror (or close your eyes and look inward) and speak a mantra of sovereignty: "I am deserving of happiness. I honor the woman I am becoming.
