A Fire Ritual for Releasing
A Fire Ritual for Releasing
Earth-based religions have long used the power of a fire ritual to create a mighty energetic shift and clear space for a new season - whether that be internally clearing old patterns, or externally marking moments in the Wheel of the Year, known as the “fire festivals” (or cross-quarter days) of Imbolc, Beltane, Lammas and Samhain. You don’t have to wait for a cross-quarter day though to work with a fire ritual. If you’re in need of an energetic cleansing, a clearing out of the old and welcoming in the new, here are a few simple ways you can hold your own releasing ceremony at any time of year: 1. Gather your supplies Things you might want to have on hand for your ritual: A fire-proof bowl, indoor fireplace or outdoor fire pit to center your ritual around. A lighter (Upgrade your ritual tools with this Ritual Lighter Case from Seed of Creation which is available in our Goddess Provisions Boutique!) Paper & pen, or physical items that are representative of what you are choosing to release (photos, old journals etc. Please be conscientious of what you choose to burn, taking care that it will not cause a negative reaction when placed in the fire. For example, metal items or anything that might combust!) Any other items that would help you to create a sacred space (candles, gem stones, music)  2. Set the space This can be as simple as placing your ritual objects with care in front of you and just getting quiet for a moment to mark the beginning of the ceremony, or it could be an elaborate process of decorating the space with candles, photos, music. Below are some ideas for helping to set your space. Pick and choose those that resonate with you, or come up with your own to help you to fully sink into the magic of the moment! Play some inspiring, empowering music. Light candles around the area where the actual fire will be lit. Place photos around your ritual space of deities who represent fire, letting go, and releasing blockages. Kali, Freyja, Pele, Brigid are all incredibly powerful goddess associated with the element of fire. Gather red, orange and yellow gem stones around your ritual space to help support the energy of fire. 3. Offer it up to the fire  While for some it can be incredibly freeing to burn old journals of your past self, or photos of a relationship that needs to finally be released, sometimes that may not feel like the right version of a fire ritual for you. Instead you might like to write down what you are letting go of on a simple piece of paper to throw into the fire. If you have the proper set-up and know-how to create a contained fire, get those flames going! Otherwise, bring your fire-proof bowl into your ritual space and one-by-one, light the piece(s) of paper that you have written on with your lighter and then drop the paper into the bowl to let the flames work their magic. 4. Connect to the flames and feel the release  Once your offerings (in the form of the physical items, or the pieces of paper) have caught fire, take time to sit quietly watching the flames as they do the work of destroying those things that were holding you back from the next form of your evolution. As you watch it all turn to ash, tap into the felt sense of what it will be like to no longer have those barriers preventing you from your growth. 5. Close your ritual When the fire has burned out, or you feel your ritual is complete, close your ritual with offering up a moment of gratitude for the things that you have released. They were part of your journey and helped you get to where you are now, and though they are no longer necessary, they served a purpose. Before leaving your ritual space, make sure that the fire is completely out. **************************************************** Any time you feel the tug of your old habits, relationships or the beliefs you released in your fire ritual, visualize the flames consuming them once again and continue to embody the feeling of freedom from removing those old blockages. We’d love to hear from you! Connect with us on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter and let us know what you're ready to release.

Spellwork Essentials by Goddess Provisions
Spellwork Essentials
The new year is upon us and we know that you’re full to the brim with new intentions for the year ahead. You don’t need permission to access your inner-sorceress and direct your energies toward creating the life you desire. The power is within you, Goddess. It always has been. So whether you’re a magick novice or a seasoned witch, we know you have it inside you to expertly execute your spells and rituals. Here is a list of a few tools to help you along the way.  Altar Creating a sacred space is essential to your work. You can choose anywhere in your home that calls to you and fill your altar with objects that have meaning to you (we’ll offer some suggestions as you read on) and that you will use when casting your spells. It’s important to note that once you deem an item enchanted and make it part of your practice it is forever imbibed with your energy and your magic. Make sure not to use your altar candle to decorate your dinner table-unless of course that’s part of your spell ; )  Altar Mat A great way to set the tone and protect your altar is to top it with a sacred cloth or covering. Any fabric that feels magical to you will work. Our Altar Mats are a beautiful foundation to your altar and will get you in the mood to get your spellwork on.  Altar Bell Another spellwork must have is an altar bell. The clear ringing of a witch’s bell can do many things from cleaning the energy in your space to banishing unwanted energies. It can also be used to call in your desired intentions and clear any stagnant energy lingering in your home. Keep this on the left side of your altar, with tools representing the Goddess and use it to invoke her whenever needed. Our January 2021 Spellwork Box has the perfect altar bell to add to your spellwork toolkit.   Candles So many spells call for the element of fire so having candles on hand is a must. These instruments encompass all of the elements (fire, melted wax for water, the air that feeds the flame, and the solid wax for earth) and are powerful tools to aid in focusing your intention. You don’t need any special type of candle as long as the intention is there. The important part is to remember to never blow out your candle or you blow away your intention right along with it! Make sure to have a candle snuffer (included in our January 2021 Spellwork Box) on hand to put out the flame without undoing your work. Spellbooks While you can always create your own spells, it is always a good idea to have some guidebooks on hand to use as a touchstone or point of reference. We can always benefit from the knowledge of those who came before us and there are a plethora of options out there depending on the kind of magick you’re practicing. We love Spellwork For Self-Care (in the January 2021 Spellwork Box) which contains 40 spells to help guide you on the path to better mental, emotional, spiritual and physical health.  Herbs and Spices  Many spells can be done simply by raiding your spice drawer or garden! Ginger, cinnamon, black pepper and cayenne are just a few examples of everyday spices that can be utilized for magical purposes. And for herbs, check out an in-depth look at which can be used for what in this detailed guide by our very own herb witch. This kit includes all of the herbs and spices you need to start your collection.  Crystals Witches know that these powerful tools are full of life and can impart their healing qualities to humans, plants and animals alike. They can be used to harness your energy and intentions and send them out into the Universe and beyond. Look into which crystals have the properties most applicable to the spellwork you’re engaging in and let them help you manifest change in your life. Leopard Jasper (as seen in our January 2021 Spellwork Box) is a great example as it is a powerful mental, physical and spiritual healer and it’s properties can be used to enhance your spells.   Journal & Pen You’ll want to have a place where you can document your experiences and keep track of any spells you create yourself. Find a beautiful notebook or journal that feels special to you and take time to write in it each time you feel called. Use this  pen with rose quartz (in our January 2021 Spellwork Box ) to fill your words with magick and let the power of the crystals link them directly to your heart and soul.   We hope this guide inspires you to begin or continue to cultivate your spellwork practice. Spellwork is a powerful way to connect to your inner power and effect change in your life. We’ll be here encouraging and supporting you throughout your journey. Always remember that YOU are the magic and these tools are merely there to help you wield it. For more goddess goodies sign up for your own magical box here!

This Dry Brush Belongs in Your Wellness Toolkit
We've all been there, on the verge of getting sick after overindulging or runnin' on overdrive for too long. Like that time when I moved cross country during the height of COVID... Of course, I waited to pack my whole life up until there were only 72 hours left before hittin' the road. Still juggling work, running last-minute errands, and orchestrating social-distanced goodbyes, my mind was whirling. And if that wasn't enough, enter the gut-wrenching period cramps!
